    Rant

I cant wait to finish college, join the AF - do my time - and get a job so I can mod the shit out of my rolla.

Why? Because I love my rolla. The ae82's shape looks so f*ing cool. Look at the silhouette below from some ae82 site.

    /rant.

for some dumb reason I had the ich to find suspension setup (pref coilovers) for my car and found none. although GC makes em for near 400 a piece (for kit). I guess that restarted the inner ricer in me and made me remember my plans for the ae82.

    PLANS:
    better suspension
built 4agze (or maybe just a 4age built for boost)
    lightweight 14's
    rear disk conv
    paint and body
    EST build cost: 5-7k
EST build completion: 2yrs after doing my time in the af.

LMAO. If things go well, I should have myself an awesome ae82 in 6yrs. Check back on me then. :D

we all go through that phase until we stumble upon a new car and look back and think "dam if i didn't buy that decal and that steering wheel and those headlights...... I could of bought this car 5 years ago."

I want to leave that phase, but it is indeed tempting to not improve your current car JUST a bit more at every paycheck = /

^you're right! would've have had me STI by now if I didn't dump so much money into this thing with so much useless crap!

To OP: you've got a plan and you love your car, so you should do what makes you happy. and if doing work on the AE82 does that for you, go for it

overall, dont have that many. After all, I always wanted my first car to be a small 4 door black car, make it look all sporty and stuff. And I got it! Just wish I made a few smarter decisions/more research along the way but thats part of the learning process i suppose

I'm happy with mine but I need to scrape some money together to do the motor right. Yes, even us Old Farts don't always have the $$$ we need to mod our cars.

I love my truck, no regrets about dumping as much money into mods as I have. I'd love to dump more!

    wrd.

My game plan to have lots of $$$ to use on toys:
    1. enjoy the bachelor life
    2. dont have kids til later

gawd I love your truck too.

I guess I feel better dumping money on the ae82 just because of the fact that I dont see 10 of these cars everyday. In fact, I only know of 5 other cars similar to mine within 10-20 miles.

The fact that it's "rare" makes it worth it for me. Kinda like oldies restoring those oldschool mustangs/novas/etc. Hell, I already get props from people who know what the rolla is.

    BTW,
I dont expect to be the fastest car out there. Actually, I want to be sorta fast, maybe in the 13's or 12's if possible. What I feel like achieving is to make the car look good and perform good for it's age. Also, I dont know how light the car is but I bet it would make a fun autocross car.

Motor work and new paint are the two biggest items right now.

I don't think there's anything to regret putting money down on a subie. Now on corollas though... It's another thing.

I was 200$ away from buying those 5spoke mr2 spyder wheels with decent tires... I don't know what stopped me. I have been waiting to buy those since forever...

Now is just not the time, yet.

I have a minivan that never gets driven except to the shop or to fail emissions tests. It's a really expensive paperweight.

yeah I know that's Jackie Chan..... although I don't know what Family Guy has anything to do with it.

And least he got the other "mind blown" pic rather than just using mine lol.
